About Me
My name is Parker Watson. I'm a Michigan-based theatrical lighting designer, photographer, videographer, and maker with over a decade of experience in theater. I’ve always loved all aspects of technical theater and what goes on behind the scenes to put on a show. A good chunk of my time starting out was spent onstage, as an actor. Which I think gives me a well-rounded perspective, having worked both onstage and off. Over the past few years, I've become immersed in the world of lighting.
While the bulk of my work has been in lighting design for musicals, plays, and concerts/live events, I’ve had experience in almost every area of tech. From set modeling and construction, rigging, effects, to prop creation and puppet building, projection design, and much more.
I’m incredibly well-versed and have real world hands-on experience in many, many areas. I've worked from some of the smallest theaters Downriver to big grand buildings with some the the newest technology. I know how to take what I'm given, whether new and flashy or old and rusty, and create something magical.
I truly treat every production with the greatest level of professionalism I can, always striving to deliver the highest quality work possible. Check out more of my work via the gallery tab above, or my socials linked below. I’d love to help bring your next production to life.
